Dirty Work - July 7, 2023
“They” say that 80% of winemaking is cleaning and I agree. Winery cleaning is ongoing, and this year there is an imagined reorganization of wine barrels and stainless steal tanks rolling about in my mind. We are not far away from 2024 crush, so there is lots of planning ahead.
Having never tried my hand at making a Tempranillo this will be my experiment this year. This is a grape that is widely planted all over the world but originated in Spain/Portugal. Felicity is on the list and some favorites such as Barbera, Syrah, and perhaps another blend. Up to be bottled in the next few months are Felicity, Barbera, and a Californian Malbec which is tasting very good!
A significant amount of time was spent on developing a Wine Club this week. I still need help on the back end of my website to set up a subscription but expect to accomplish this in the next few weeks.
More to come next week! Don’t forget to pop in and see us at “the farm”.
Stay Cool!
